The Hebei provincial water resources department will actively promote various tasks of water conservancy planning and construction in the new district, focusing on ensuring flood control safety, water supply safety, ecological security, and continuously improve the water security guarantee capability of Xiong’an New District.
Focusing on ensuring flood control safety, on the basis of the existing flood control engineering system in the new district, combined with the construction of weak links of post-disaster water conservancy, we will accelerate the construction of flood control engineering systems such as reservoirs and river dykes around the new district, greatly improve the flood control and disaster reduction capabilities of the new district.
Around ensuring the safety of water supply, we should speed up the construction of the Yellow River Diversion project into Hebei Lake to ensure that the main project will be completed before the end of October, with water supply conditions, providing water for Baiyangdian ecology and agriculture along the line. At the same time, we should do a good job in the construction and management of the supporting projects of the south-to-north water diversion project in the new district, and comprehensively adopt administrative and economic measures to increase the water consumption of the south-to-north water diversion project in the new district and ensure the water demand of the new district.
Focusing on ensuring ecological security, we will vigorously promote the comprehensive management of overexploitation of groundwater in Xiong’an New District and its surrounding areas, and strive to take the lead in realizing the balance of groundwater exploitation and replenishment in the whole province. Plus-sized control the water and soil loss in the upper reaches of the new district, promote the construction of ecological clean small watershed around the water source and the source of the river as a whole, and strive to achieve the goal of clear water going down the mountain and water entering into the lake. Strengthen the rigid constraint of water resources, strictly demonstrate water resources and manage water intake permission, actively promote the adjustment of industrial structure in the upper reaches of Baiyangdian Lake, vigorously develop water-saving industry, and strictly control the pollution sources in Baiyangdian Lake.
